Backtagging: I live on backtags.
Threadhopping: Sure!
Fourthwalling: Generally, I'd rather not.
Offensive subjects: I'm pretty much good with everything, but if there is something I need to avoid for you, please do let me know.

[IC]

Hugging this character: Go for it!
Kissing this character: You can...  Whether he'll react well is another matter
Flirting with this character: Go for it.
Fighting with this character: Again, go for it. He's a warrior, he can take it.
Injuring this character: Totally cool. I'd like to plot out anything serious or permanent, though
Killing this character: Talk to me.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Yes! He has some of his own, so he will notice and how he will react depends on circumstances. We should probably plot this out, so talk to me.

Warnings: I will always warn when these come up in threads, but descriptions of imprisonment, war, horrific injury, and death are all possible. Most of the time, these aren't going to be discussed in detail, though because Finrod simply doesn't like talking about them.

Powers

  • Foresight: There are a few times in The Silmarilion when Finrod gets a glimpse of the future. It's not foresight to the degree that Galadriel has it- full visions at will, etc, but he does have flashes of insight.

  • Telepathy: It's implied that almost all of the Eldar have some limited degree of telepathy and are able to talk mind-to-mind. Finrod is not an exception and even makes use of this to help understand the language of the first humans he meets.

  • Illusions: Finrod has the ability to disguise his form and the forms of others; on the quest for the Simaril, he made the party appear to be orcs. It's important to note that this is strictly illusion and not shape-shifting.

  • Songs of Power: Before Sauron captures and imprisons him, Finrod goes up against him in a battle of song. the specifics are vague, but it's clear that, through some sort of magic, the songs/chants actually cause damage to the fighters. Link to a song on the topic.

I want to know a number of things from you:

1. Is there anything in particular that Finrod should be picking up from your character?

2. Does your character have abilities that would interfere with his abilities (i.e. the ability to see through illusions, mind shields, etc) and do you want to plot around that?

3. Do you want to use any of his powers as plot points? I'm always happy to have him have a convenient insight into the future or read a particular thought, if it would help a plot.

4. Are there any of these abilities you absolutely do not want used on your character ever (Songs of Power likely won't be an issue anyway unless there's a battle)? Finrod actually is pretty happy to just be the dude with the sword, so it's very easy to interact with him and never know that he has special powers at all.
